A Reason To Shop Early This Christmas
Far be it from me to offer anyone shopping advice. I don’t like it and I’m not good at it. I have simply accepted this part of my being. But considering that the U.S. Senate recently passed a non-binding vote of approval for a measure that would allow states to collect sales taxes from online retailers now may be a good time to hit the Web. The vote is non-binding, but it passed 75-24. Local governments and traditional brick and mortar retailers are in favor of it. Apparently, Grover Norquist doesn’t even consider the measure to violate his no new tax pledge. That is saying something. So buy now. Beat the Christmas rush and the tax man.
