I get to do some fun things in my job.  And next Wednesday sets up as one very fun gig.  I’ll be interviewing Len Niehoff, co-author of “Free Speech, From Core Values to Current Debates.” The interview is part of the ABA Forum on Communications Law, details here.

Len’s book is designed for anyone looking for an accessible overview of the critical topic of free speech in America.  The book helps us better understand issues like why public school students can’t be forced to recite the pledge of allegiance, why bigoted members of a “church” can display homophobic signs at a veteran’s funeral and why we permit flag burning.  It’s a fascinating read which I cannot recommend highly enough.  I’m busy coming up with some tough interview questions that Len will answer with aplomb.  Lucky me.
