I’m Just A Plaintiff

The New York Times reports that Gwen Stefani and her band, No Doubt, have sued Activision Blizzard, the publisher of the video game Guitar Hero. Stefani and the band concede that they agreed to allow Activision to use their likeness in the new game Band Hero. Apparently however, the game allows the virtual Stefani to perform songs that No Doubt never recorded, including the Rolling Stones classic “Honky Tonk Women.” And that’s got Stefani honky tonked off. I suspect the suit will focus on the terms of the license agreement that Stefani and the band signed. But for me, the big question is who wants to hear No Doubt sing “Honky Tonk Women?”
