It Doesn’t Add Up
Vehr Communications, a Cincinnati based public relations firm, recently released it 2011 Social Media Usage Survey. It’s an interesting read. But for me, three numbers stood out. First, 74% of the responding businesses allowed employee access to social media at work. That’s not surprising, other than, if anything, it seems little low. But given that number, these other findings seemed shocking. Only 30% of the companies offer some sort of social media training, and only 44% have a social media policy. A good New Year’s resolution for a lot of companies out there may be to offer some training and adopt a policy.
