Look Who Is Building The Exchanges Now

Jamie Scott

During the last presidential campaign, President Obama famously touted the role of government in helping private businesses by saying “If you’ve got a business-you didn’t build that.”  Now the federal government has had 3 years to set up the Affordable Care Act insurance exchanges and has spent an estimated $500 million for website development of healthcare.gov. As the exchanges have collapsed in disarray, the administration has called on some of those same private businesses, including Verizon, for a technology bailout. You have to believe that many business owners are quietly satisfied with this turn of events.
