Sports Guy And Accidental Tweets
Pretty interesting mea culpa from ESPN’s Bill Simmons about accidentally sending a tweet “breaking” the story of the Randy Moss trade to the Vikings. I guess it happened like he said it did, but it sounds a little like Rosemary Woods’ explanation for how 18 minutes of the White House tapes got erased during Watergate. In any event, it’s an interesting lesson I think on the need to be careful about tweeting and using direct messaging on Twitter. The consequences of Simmons’ mishap are pretty minimal. And on the upside, it gave him a column. The consequences could be a lot worse in the real world.
