My Bio

Jen Pearson Patsy is an observer. She enjoys quietly watching the human parade and prefers learning about others to talking about herself. She is very trustworthy. If you say something to her in confidence, it stays that way.

She’s the oldest of four girls, which meant she had to blaze a trail. It strikes her that her parents became increasingly lenient with each subsequent sister. They were strict with her, which she thinks kept her on the straight and narrow, although it may have been in her nature to be that way anyway. She notes, somewhat wryly, that her youngest sister has gotten her way on quite a few issues where perhaps she didn’t at her age.

But she supposes she might be more responsible than she otherwise would have been as a result. “So that’s good. I felt like whatever I was doing, it was important to set a good example for my sisters. However, they would say that I set the bar too high and that our parents were always comparing them to me.”

Her father started his working life as a stock boy at a grocery store in San Antonio. Today, he’s President of Laurel Grocery Company and owns a local Save A Lot grocery store. Her mother stayed at home with the girls in West Chester. Jen says her parents instilled in her a desire to realize her potential. “That means not quitting until I’ve done all I can.”

Between running track and playing soccer, she stayed busy year-round in school. She says the only “sort of” difficult thing growing up – she quickly admits it wasn’t that difficult – was balancing school, sports, family and friends.

“Having so much on my plate at one time helped me learn how to prioritize things and manage my time. That’s a skill that has become very useful in my practice.”

Her favorite author is the mystery writer, James Patterson. She loves Mexican food, plays soccer on an indoor coed team and listens to all types of music, although her favorite is country.

She is married to Shaun Patsy and they have two children, Kylie and Conner. She and Shaun hope to travel more. “I want to explore Europe. I would love to go back to Italy, and to see Switzerland, England, and France.”

She knew as a child that she wanted to be an attorney. She targeted Graydon because she wanted to work at a firm that was large enough to attract a wide variety of clients and to handle complex matters but that was small enough that she could really get to know her colleagues. The quality of the people she met during the interview process confirmed to her that it would be a great place to work.

“What I love about my job is that I have the opportunity to work with all different types of clients, both large and small, to help them achieve their goals. It’s all about understanding what the client’s objective is and finding a way to help them realize that objective.”

Jen practices in the areas of real estate and corporate law. She counsels clients in the acquisition, disposition, development and leasing of commercial and residential properties.
