The Constitution Needs a Friend Like You

Firm News

Would you like to get to know your Constitution better?  Here’s a readable, free, online book that hopes you will be a friend of the Constitution.  With the theme of civic friendship, this book sets a hopeful, non-partisan tone during these challenging times for the American republic.

It guides the reader from Preamble, to Articles, to the Bill of Rights and Amendments, exploring ten types of constitutional friendship: free speech, voting, religious freedom, equality, justice, arts & science education, public health, public safety, privacy, and friend of the earth.

The author Bruce Petrie is a lawyer with the Graydon law firm, a professor of constitutional conversation at Miami University and University of Cincinnati, and a visual artist whose artwork befriends the Constitution and can be seen at brucepetrie.com.
