Tweets Are Trusted
This is admittedly not a legal issue, so in the interest of full disclosure, I am venturing outside of my area of expertise (I am accused of the same thing when I play on the firm softball team). But I found this article really interesting. In short, it reports that a majority of consumers appreciate companies that use social media to communicate information. One point in particular is that smart companies will not only use social media to deal with crises situations, but will use the tools to develop relationships before a crisis arises. And that relationship may very well help the company better manage the problem. I know people still make fun of Twitter – “who cares what that guy had for lunch” – but smart people might want to stop laughing and think about how to use it. Now I’m off to grab a tuna sandwich. In case you were wondering.
